Dear Energi Community Member,
We understand that you may have been the victim of a scam or other cybercrime. We would like to extend our deepest condolences. Energi takes the safety and security of our community very seriously and investigates all claims of this nature to the fullest extent possible. EBI is a complementary cyber forensics service, funded by our treasury, specifically to aid the community in these types of situations.
Please be advised that Energi Core members will never communicate with you through direct messages. All communication will be handled through our secure ticket support process.
To protect yourself from further losses and to assist our investigation, please take the following steps immediately:
- Do not delete any data from your devices as it may contain critical evidence for the investigation.
- Stop all contact and communication with the fraudster unless otherwise instructed by Energi’s Bureau of Investigations (EBI).
- Take screenshots of all communication with the suspect and be prepared to provide them to the EBI, along with any other information we may request.
- Stop using the compromised wallet and create a new one prior to any further transactions.
- If you have not already done so, join the Energi Discord server and open a security support ticket by clicking the envelope icon in the #energi-defense channel.
Important information about your claim and our investigation:
With your cooperation, EBI will do everything possible to track the funds and the perpetrator. However, recovery is not guaranteed and can take a long time. Successful recovery typically involves local law enforcement entities, cooperation with exchanges to freeze illicit funds, and a lengthy legal process to prove ownership.
We understand how devastating a loss like this can be. Regretfully, Energi is unable to reverse any transactions or otherwise directly reimburse stolen funds. Your participation with our investigation is 100% voluntary and you may refuse our service at any point in the process. We hope to support the successful retrieval of your funds and again offer our deepest condolences for any loss you may have incurred.
